Introduction
Located in the heart of Glenamaddy, Co. Galway, Oaklands Hotel is a well-known family-run hotel serving both locals and visitors travelling through the west of Ireland. With rising energy costs and a growing focus on sustainability within the hospitality sector, the hotel recently partnered with us to install a tailored solar and battery storage solution.
The completed installation included a 45.3 kWh Sigenergy battery storage system, designed to maximise on-site energy usage and reduce reliance on grid electricity during peak demand periods. The system is expected to generate approximately 34,898 kWh of renewable electricity annually, while reducing the hotel’s carbon emissions by an estimated 12 tonnes per year.

About the project
Before installation, Eire Renewables carried out a full site survey and energy assessment to ensure the system was correctly designed around the hotel’s energy usage and future requirements. Our team also managed the complete SEAI grant application process from start to finish, providing a seamless experience for the client throughout the project.
The installation was completed with no disruption to the hotel premises. Following commissioning, the owners of Oaklands Hotel now have full live access to monitor the performance of their solar and battery system in real time through the MySigEnergy App.
